Job Description The IT business applications manager is responsible for managing the operational support, maintenance, and development activities for healthcare business applications. The position combines managerial responsibilities with in‑depth hands‑on technical expertise. The manager is responsible for appropriate staffing, staff management, performance management, and continuous service improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide oversight and management to the IT Application team to deliver IT servicesAssesses user needs to provide support and proactive service, including analysis of opportunities in order to take advantage of available toolsActs as a focal point for communicating related system problems within the department and collaborates with other teams and vendors on changes, fixes, and updatesManages the release process for applications which includes effective department wide and end user communicationManages testing scripts and identifies opportunities for improvementNegotiates resolution of conflicting requirements across the agencies and/or departmentsSets and measures performance objectives and provides regular one‑on‑one feedback to all members of the teamHires and evaluates the performance of direct reports, and provides ongoing coaching and staff developmentAddresses individual staff performance problems as neededManages delivery and SLAs by guiding incident resolution, problem management, maintenance, and enhancement tickets raised by the end users for assigned applicationsDevelops relevant metrics, measures and publishes the performance of the services provided and enables continuous improvement activities in collaboration with peer groupsWorks closely with all other IT management personnel in identifying, evaluating, selecting, and implementing specific information technologies that support the business plans and IT strategiesEnsure department adheres to policies and procedures that are compliant with industry and regulatory policiesAssists with the preparation of budget for IT systems and services related interfaces and applicationsKeeps abreast of new developments and forecasts future trends in the area of application integration in the healthcare industryMaintains a strong understanding of technology and its application to achieve business objectivesPrepares analysis and or proposals for other enterprise departments when necessaryServes as an internal consultant to other IT management staff and operations community as neededDevelop and maintain an effective on‑call rotation for 24/7 supportProvides ongoing troubleshooting, support, and maintenance of applications, including 24/7 on call coverage as requiredEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience is required.
