Oncology Clinic and Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) - The Woodlands, TX

Texas Oncology is looking for an Oncology Clinic and Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in The Woodlands, TX.

This Monday‑Friday position (no weekends or holidays, no on‑call) focuses on providing high‑quality oncology nursing care in a supportive, community‑based setting.

Responsibilities
  • Oncology Clinic RN:
    • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care.
    • Assess health status and patient/family needs, provide teaching and psychosocial support.
    • Facilitate clinical operations: manage medication refill requests, schedule consultations and diagnostic tests, triage phone calls, coordinate care services, and locate community resources.
    • Serve as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
  • Infusion Clinic RN:
    • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care.
    • Assess patient/family needs, provide teaching.
    • Prepare and administer therapies under physician supervision.
    • Administer medications/blood products with correct dosage, route, time, and technique.
    • Obtain pre‑authorization and consent forms prior to therapies.
    • Facilitate dose modification by assessing labs, consulting protocols, calculating dose, and coordinating with physician.
    • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, maintain central line catheter devices.
    • Maintain accurate documentation and apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures.
Qualifications

Education/Training:

  • Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Valid RN license in the state of practice.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; must maintain continuing education.

Experience Levels:

  • Level I (Entry) – 0‑3 years nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
  • Level II – Minimum 3 years nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
  • Level Senior – Minimum 5 years nursing experience, at least 1 year in oncology; oncology certification preferred.
Working Conditions

Typical oncology/hematology clinic environment with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxins, radiation, and medical preparations.

Physical Requirements

Full range of body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual dexterity, standing and walking for extended periods, occasional lifting up to 40 lbs, corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
