Responsibilities- Prepare patients for surgical procedures in a safe and timely manner
- Monitor patient condition pre‑ and post‑operatively, including vital signs, pain levels, and overall stability
- Administer IV fluids, medications, and pre‑op treatments as ordered
- Provide age‑appropriate education and discharge instructions to patients and caregivers
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth case transitions and readiness
- Accurately document nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EMR
- Respond promptly to emergencies and implement appropriate nursing interventions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well‑stocked work environment
- Follow all infection control, safety, and patient privacy protocols
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking
- Strong communication and patient education abilities
- Adaptability and readiness to float between Pre‑Op and PACU areas
- Calm under pressure and responsive in emergent situations
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organization
- Works well in a collaborative, team‑based environment
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a Pre‑Op and/or PACU nursing role
- Experience in an ambulatory surgery center or acute care setting strongly preferred
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in fast‑paced or emergent situations
- Skilled in post‑anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery assessments
- Comfortable assisting with airway management and post‑op pain control
- Knowledge of EMR systems and post‑anesthesia documentation requirements
- Previous experience educating patients and families on discharge plans
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking
- Strong communication and patient education abilities
- Adaptability and readiness to float between Pre‑Op and PACU areas
- Calm under pressure and responsive in emergent situations
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organization
- Works well in a collaborative, team‑based environment
