American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring AWHONN fetal monitoring certification and a TX or compact RN license.
Requirements- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN) certifications required
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
- Acute care Labor & Delivery unit with 12 L&D beds, 2 OR suites for C-sections, 4 triage beds, and 16 postpartum beds
- Unit averages 160-200 births per month
- Follows AWHONN guidelines for staffing ratios
- Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 12-hour shifts, every other weekend
- Uses EPIC EMR
- RNs circulate and perform their own sections, with no titratable drip responsibilities
- Surgical techs are available on the unit, but no dedicated monitor techs; RNs must read their own fetal strips
- Uses Watch Child for fetal monitoring
- OB/Neonatologist and anesthesia coverage in-house 24/7
- RT equipment available including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP
- Modified self-scheduling model
- Rare floating to Mom/Baby unit may be required
- No call or standby requirements
- Provide direct patient care for laboring, delivering, and postpartum patients
- Perform circulating duties and assist with C-sections
- Charge nurse role is supervisory only and does not carry a patient assignment
- Royal blue scrub color required per dress code
- Unit-specific orientation provided
- Holiday coverage required
- Candidates with recent direct employment history with Common Spirit-affiliated facilities, including CHI and Dignity, within the past year are not eligible
