About the role

Justteachers are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive Primary school in Thetford, who are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join their specialist resource base (SRB) team on a full time, long-term supply basis, starting September.

This school is committed to providing a nurturing and structured environment where pupils feel supported to thrive both socially and academically. The SRB team works closely with pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support, with a strong emphasis on positive relationships, consistency, and personalised approaches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored behavioural and emotional support to pupils within the Primary SRB setting
  • Support pupils in accessing learning activities and maintaining engagement in lessons
  • Implement behaviour strategies and interventions in line with individual support plans
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils to encourage confidence and self-regulation
  • Work closely with teaching staff and SEN professionals to support pupil progress
  • Promote a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing
  • Support pupils during transitions, break times, and structured activities where required
Pre-requisites
  • Experience working with children with behavioural, emotional, or additional learning needs
  • A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach to supporting pupils
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to remain calm and consistent in challenging situations
  • Experience with in a Primary school or specialist setting is desirable
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
  • Two recent references
