Pastoral Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join our specialist educational provision in Thetford from September. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people aged 11-16 years with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Pupil-Funded Role

Working as part of a supportive and experienced team, you will provide both 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils to engage with learning, regulate emotions, build positive relationships, and achieve their individual goals.

About the Role

This is a heavily pastoral position where relationship-building is key. You will act as a positive role model and mentor, supporting young people who may have experienced significant barriers to education and personal development.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing tailored 1:1 support and leading small group interventions.
• Supporting students with complex SEMH needs both inside and outside the classroom.
• Building positive, professional relationships that promote engagement and trust.
