Year 6 Class Teacher

About the role:

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive Primary school in Thetford, who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 6 Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term supply basis starting in September.

This friendly and ambitious school is committed to creating a positive and engaging learning environment where all pupils are encouraged to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons to a Year 6 class, supporting pupils academically, socially, and emotionally throughout this important stage of their education.

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum
• Prepare pupils for SATs assessments and support their transition to Secondary school
• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Support and challenge pupils of varying abilities to achieve their full potential
• Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing regular feedback where appropriate
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with the school’s policies
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support staff, and parents
• Contribute to the wider school community and school activities where required
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all learners within the classroom
• Maintain accurate records and complete planning and marking responsibilities

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Previous experience teaching within a Primary school setting, ideally KS2
• Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum
• Experience supporting pupils with SATs preparation is desirable
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• A positive, flexible, and proactive approach to teaching
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
• A genuine passion for education and supporting children’s development
