Orthopedic Spine Physician Assistant (PA)
Job Summary
Ortho
LA is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing team! The ideal candidate will play a vital role in patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, working closely with our orthopedic physicians and healthcare team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the care of patients with spinal disorders.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history taking and physical examinations.
- Assist in the diagnosis and management of a variety of spine-related conditions.
- Collaborate with physician in developing and implementing treatment plans.
- Perform diagnostic procedures, such as injections and other minimally invasive interventions.
- Educate patients and families about their conditions, treatment options, and postoperative care.
- Monitor and manage postoperative patients, including assessing recovery and addressing complications.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with clinic policies.
- Participate in patient follow-ups and coordinate care with other healthcare providers.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in orthopedic spine care and participate in continuing education opportunities.
- Assist physician in surgery.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling and referrals.
- Occasional call required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.
- Current PA license in LA and certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Experience with surgery assistance is a plus, but not required.
- Experience in orthopedic care is a plus, but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Walking, sitting, bending, squatting, reaching.

This is an in-person position primarily based in Thibodaux, LA. This is a full-time, exempt position. Typical schedule is Monday-Friday.
