We are recruiting a caring and proactive Education Support Practitioner to join a welcoming primary school in Thirsk, working within the EYFS setting. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting young children at a crucial stage of their development and wants to be part of a nurturing, play based learning environment.
You will work closely with the class teacher to support children as they develop early communication, social skills and confidence, helping them feel secure, curious and ready to learn.
What you will be doing:
• Supporting children during phonics, play and early learning activities
• Helping create engaging and stimulating EYFS focused learning environments
• Encouraging communication, independence and a love of learning
• Providing gentle behaviour support using positive and nurturing approaches
• Assisting with daily routines including snack time and outdoor learning
• Observing progress and sharing feedback with teaching staff
• Building warm, trusting relationships with pupils and colleagues
What we are looking for:
You will be patient, enthusiastic and genuinely passionate about working with young children. Experience in EYFS or a school setting is beneficial, but the right attitude and approach are just as important.
