We have an exciting opportunity for a Practice Manager tolead our successful established team at the Lambert Medical Centre, Thirsk.

We are looking for someone to lead and manage our Practice,helping us to meet our objectives, whilst maintaining our strong values of providing a responsive, safe, and high-quality service for our patients, in asupportive and efficient environment. Westrive to ensure that our team can work in a trusting and fulfillingenvironment in which they can develop, learn and thrive.

Main duties of the job

You must be experienced, dynamic, highly organised and enthusiastic, with outstanding leadership skills, a good head for business and a large heart for people with excellent communication and team skills. You will have vision, be adaptable, and conscientious. The successful candidate will work closely with the Partners and our excellent deputy PM, supported by fantastic administrative and clinical teams, to ensure the smooth day to day running of the practice, fulfilling all necessary management duties as agreed with the Partnership.

We are part of Hambleton South PCN in which the practice managers enjoy a supportive and collaborative working relationship, and also part of Heartbeat Alliance GP federation.

About us

The Lambert Medical Centre is a well established practice offering patient services fromits partnership owned premises in Thirsk town centre, a semi-rural market town. We offer services to those living in Thirskand the surrounding villages. We have a stablepatient list size of approximately 8500 and we dispense medication to approximately
40% of our list.

We are a 4 partner GMS practice with an enthusiasm to develop our practice further. We are rated good by CQC (withan outstanding in 'caring'). We have astrong patient focus, with our ethos and values being rooted in delivering carefor our community that we and our families would be happy to receive. We consider ourselves a forward-thinking practice and enjoy good links with other organisations.

We work in collaboration with our PCN(Hambleton South PCN), neighbouring practices, our GP Federation (Heartbeat Alliance) and our local community to ensure we deliver high quality healthcare services in a safe environment which is welcoming, caring and accessible toall.

We are a training practice(currently have 2 GP registrars) and we also have good links with Hull York Medical School (HYMS) who we work with to deliver medical studentteaching.

Some of our GP partners have additional outside interests which we feel adds further value and experience toour leadership team. These include: GP Appraiser, PCN Clinical Director, LMC Chair.

Job responsibilities

You will be responsible for thecaring, compassionate, efficient and profitable running of the practice, and maintaining a happy and committed team.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to act sensitively and effectively
  • Robustfinance and business skills
  • Strategic thinking
  • Detailed knowledge and skills of HR
  • Ensure compliance with CQC requirements / assessments
  • Handling and diffusing complaints
  • Excellent

    IT knowledge and experience
  • Able toself motivate, prioritise, organise and delegate workload.
  • Ensurepractice policies and standards are complaint with various legislation and regulations
  • Develop and coordinate systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the practice
  • Oversight of practice processes in each team
Person Specification Qualifications
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Educated to degree level.
  • Leadership and / or Management Qualification.
  • AMSPAR Qualification.
Experience
  • Experience of working with the general public.
  • Experience of managing accounting procedures including budget and cash flow forecasting.
  • Experience of working in and managing large teams.
  • Experience of performance management, including appraisal writing, staff development…
