Health and Safety Coordinator

We are working with a well-established manufacturing and distribution business in Thirsk to recruit a Health & Safety Support professional to provide day-to-day operational safety support across a busy production and warehouse environment. The role focuses on maintaining high standards of site safety, promoting positive behaviours, supporting reporting processes, and assisting managers in delivering a safe and compliant workplace.

This position plays a key role in supporting on-site health and safety activity through visible presence across operational areas, routine inspections, employee engagement, and administrative support. The successful candidate will help drive continuous improvement in safety culture, housekeeping standards, and reporting accuracy while assisting with compliance and audit readiness.

Responsibilities

• Carry out regular safety walks across production, warehouse, and external yard areas, identifying unsafe conditions and behaviours and agreeing corrective actions with supervisors
• Monitor and support improvements in housekeeping and overall site standards
• Promote a strong culture of near miss and hazard reporting, supporting employees in completing reports and assisting with basic investigations
