Based in Thirsk, this full-time Transport Coordinator role with Pertemps Leeds offers £13.50 per hour on a temp-to-perm basis. Working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, you will join a small transport office supporting a 24/7 logistics operation.

The position involves coordinating around 30 drivers, 9 trucks, and 2 shunters. Your duties include assisting the First Line Manager with daily operations, meeting and greeting drivers, completing transport paperwork, and providing general administrative support. This hands‑on role also requires flexibility with working hours to cover goods‑in and other operational needs. Previous transport coordination or logistics administration experience is essential for this position.

We’re currently looking for a Transport Coordinator to join a busy Logistics and Supply Chain business based in Thirsk. You’ll be working as part of a small transport office supporting a 24/7 operation, with around 30 drivers, 9 trucks and 2 shunters. This is a hands on role where you’ll work closely with the First Line Manager and help keep the day-to-day transport operation running smoothly.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Supporting the First Line Manager with the daily running of the transport office
  • Meeting and greeting drivers when they arrive on site
  • Completing transport paperwork and general administration
  • Supporting goods-in and goods-out
  • Dealing with deliveries for the IPM operation based on site
  • Liaising with drivers and other teams across the site
  • Updating information on Microlise Transport Management System
  • Dealing with driver queries and helping resolve any issues
  • Keeping transport records and paperwork accurate and up to date
  • Supporting the wider transport team as required
About you:

You’ll ideally have previous experience in a transport, logistics or supply chain environment and be comfortable working in a busy transport office.

We’re looking for someone who:
  • Has previous transport or logistics experience
  • Is confident using computers and transport systems
  • Has experience with Microlise or a similar Transport Management System
  • Is organised and able to keep on top of paperwork
  • Can work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
  • Has good communication skills and is comfortable dealing with drivers
  • Is reliable, practical and happy to get stuck in
