Reporting to the Supervisor, the applicant is responsible for safely performing tasks involving physical labor for Factory Precast Concrete Production. Responsibilities include cleaning the plant floor through sweeping, vacuuming, and other approved methods, as well as removing waste materials. The applicant will inventory and organize materials in the plant and yard as directed, and prepare for the production of products by organizing daily manufactured hardware (bolts, nuts, inserts, lifters, etc.)
at each production area per drawings and production area. Maintaining tools as directed and assembling and disassembling formwork, assembling and placing reinforcement cages, and placing and finishing concrete are also key tasks.
- Capable of performing multiple tasks
- Operate all equipment in a safe and appropriate manner
- Follow signals from Crew Leaders as needed
- Work with the production team to build and assemble formwork, cast concrete, etc.
- Maintain proper awareness of one’s surroundings
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the equipment
- Ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors, and consultants to adopt safety as a culture
- Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections
- Work with the Safety Department to investigate damage, incidents, or near misses and ensure proper procedures are carried out according to the Company’s Safety Program
- Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself or endanger the wellbeing of others
- Perform duties safely and efficiently
- Participate as a vital team member and contribute towards the success of the organization; may involve the provision of other technical and administrative support as required
- Duties are performed generally as part of a crew that should function as one unit
- Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives as required
- If assigned to another crew, the physical demands are similar and proper operation will be followed
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- CT Driver’s License
- Ability to read and understand production shop card prints
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience within the construction industry
- 2 to 3 years’ experience operating a diverse range of construction tools/equipment is required
