Position at Student Transportation of America. As a school bus monitor, you will assist the driver with safe management of students onboard the vehicle. This may include assisting students as they enter and exit the vehicle, performing safety checks, leading emergency evacuations, and communicating behavior issues with parents and management, among other duties.

Base pay: $18.25/hr – $18.25/hr starting pay rate: $18.25 per hour.

• Monitor all passengers to ensure safety is always maintained on the bus.
• Assist students in entering and exiting the bus.
• Perform safety checks on the bus to ensure the safety of all students.
• Know the routes and remain alert to monitor the welfare of passengers while on the route.
• Check the bus for sleeping children.
• Assist driver to safely direct the vehicle when backing.
• Conduct emergency evacuation from the bus, including use of the emergency door.
• Open and close service doors and move up and down steps multiple times a day.
• Communicate behavior problems and conditions of various bus stops with the driver.
• Liaise with parents on an as‑needed basis.
• Assist with maintaining cleanliness of the assigned bus.
• Occasionally attend field trips and special events to ensure passenger safety.

• At least 1 year of experience working with children or students.
• Complete comprehensive training program.
• Pre‑employment background checks.
