Maintenance Supervisor – Thomaston, GA

Overview

Thomaston Housing Authority is seeking candidates to fill the position of Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.

• Under the supervision of the Thomaston Housing Authority (THA) Executive Director, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for supporting ongoing property maintenance functions at the THA.
• The Maintenance Manager directs the activities of the Maintenance Department which includes inventory, properties, facilities, and grounds operations.
• Preserve and protect the long-term physical and operational viability of all THA properties and facilities.
• Manage the administrative functions of the department including budget preparation and personnel management.
• Direct maintenance staff and advise the Executive Director regarding general facilities matters.
• Responsible for the selection, training and evaluation of subordinate staff; prepares and presents reports and recommendations as needed.
• Demonstrate strong leadership skills; establish and maintain a high level of pride in the performance and appearance of THA communities by ensuring the properties remain safe, comfortable homes that residents can be proud to reside in.

• Two-year technical or college degree in related field or graduation from high school, or GED equivalency with five years of public housing experience and two HUD certifications. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities may be considered sufficient.
• Experience in routine electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, general repair, appliance repair, vacancy preparation, preventive maintenance and related disciplines.
• Previous public housing experience is highly desirable.

$52,000 – $56,500.00 or negotiable with credentials and experience
