Pharmacy Director – Pharmacy Administration
Graduate of an ACPE‑accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree. Currently licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of Georgia. Preferred Masters of Health Administration or Masters of Business Administration degree.
Minimum of 5 years hospital pharmacy practice. 3 years of experience in pharmacy administration and leadership are required.
Responsibilities- Ensure the pharmacy operates according to overall standards of pharmacy practice.
- Plan and coordinate current and future pharmacy services.
- Oversee the financial and budgetary management of pharmacy departments; negotiate and manage contracts.
- Interact with and meet the needs of the medical staff.
- Comply with organizational human resources policies and procedures including performance evaluations, counseling, hiring, retention, and education of staff.
- Track and audit compliance with applicable jurisdictional laws and regulations, licensure requirements, accreditation standards, Medicare Conditions of Participation, Drug Enforcement Administration, Food and Drug Administration, and other legal and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure that all pharmacy departments maintain accreditations and compliance with applicable standards, including, but not limited to The Joint Commission, American Commission for Healthcare (ACHC), and Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC).
- Investigate compliance issues, respond to detected risks, problems, and incidents related to regulatory compliance, and take appropriate action to prevent future occurrences.
