1st shift: Part-Time Assembly​/Packing; M-F

Check-Mate Manufacturing LLC located in Thomasville, GA is a subsidiary of Check-Mate Industries based in West Babylon, New York. Over the past 40 years, Check-Mate has proven to be the winning move for hundreds of customers across diverse industries, specializing in tool & die, stampings, and assemblies.

Responsible for all aspects of assembly, packing, and inspection of firearm magazines. Performs tasks efficiently, meeting quality standards and productivity, while promoting and complying with company regulations.

• Assemble parts such as handles, blades, gears or springs to build firearm magazines
• Position parts together following guides such as holes, edges, and prongs
• Rivet, bolt or screw parts together using hammer, riveting machine, wrench, or pneumatic screwdriver
• Inspect assembled parts for quality and accuracy
• Test, calibrate and fit parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications
• Identify units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repair as necessary
• Drill, ream or tap holes in parts as required using drill press
• Maintain a high level of safety in and around the assembly area
• Use clamps, pneumatic or screw presses and other work aids to hold parts during assembly
• Pack assembled parts and prepare them for shipment
• Maintain documentation accuracy including quantities and other records
• Keep assembly work area and equipment clean and orderly
• Report defective parts or questionable conditions to the line lead or department supervisor
• Maintain knowledge of QC requirements and procedures to ensure proper disposition of nonconforming parts
• Communicate with line leads and assemblers at shift change to exchange relevant information to prevent mistakes and expedite the assembly process
• Support LEAN activities, especially 5S principles and continuous process improvement based on KAIZEN principles, to achieve highest quality standards

• Must be 18 years of age and/or enrolled in the Work Based Learning Program (Thomas County or Thomasville City Schools)
• Fine motor dexterity skills required to maintain quality and productivity
• Basic problem-solving and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and conflict resolution skills
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task, adapt, and think analytically
• Ability to utilize micrometers, gauges, and other hand-tools for measuring and inspecting
• Ability to read and follow instructions outlined in production documents

• 20 hours per week:
  • Monday–Friday 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
• 24 hours per week:
  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

• $15.00 per hour, paid weekly
