Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown (CPU) travel assignment with night shifts and telemetry skills required.

• Position is within a stepdown unit (Cardiac Progressive Unit/CPU) in a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, working 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• Patient population involves telemetry monitoring and intermediate to advanced cardiac care
• EMR system used is Cerner
• Royal blue scrubs are required (not provided)
• Responsibilities include monitoring telemetry, performing cardiac assessments, and advanced interventions appropriate to the stepdown level
• Minimal RTO (requested time off) allowed and must be requested in advance, especially around holidays
• Orientation modules (up to 8 hours) are required and must be completed before starting the assignment through Health Stream
• First-time travelers are welcome but previous travel experience is preferred
• The team environment supports collaborative patient care with a focus on advanced monitoring
• Holiday and every other weekend shifts are mandatory

• Active GA or compact RN license required prior to start (no pending licenses accepted without proof of process)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
• Minimum 3 years recent stepdown experience required
• Proficiency in telemetry, intermediate/advanced cardiac care, and IV start skills required
• Previous travel RN experience preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Driver’s License and proof of residence needed to determine travel or local rate eligibility
• Travelers must live more than 30 miles from the facility; local rate applies for residence within 31-50 miles
