Travel RN - Telemetry - Stepdown

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown/CPU position requiring 3+ years of recent stepdown experience and a GA or compact RN license.

• Active GA or compact RN license required (will not hire without license; if pending, proof of process required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 3+ years of recent Stepdown experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, IV starts, and intermediate/advanced feeding management required
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care
• IV therapy/phlebotomy skills including central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, PCA, and heparin protocols
• Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias and using Rapid Response/Code teams
• Wound care/wound vac and isolation precaution/PPE experience
• IV insulin protocol experience preferred
• Pre/post cardiac catheterization and TR Band experience preferred
• Renal failure management experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Driver's license and updated immunization records required for consideration

• Step-down/Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPU) setting
• Cardiac telemetry and MS/Tele patient population including CVA and GI cases
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Provide step-down level nursing care to cardiac, telemetry, and neurological patients
• Monitor and respond to cardiac dysrhythmias and utilize rapid response protocols as needed
• Royal blue scrubs required (not provided)
• Minimal to no RTO accepted, especially around holidays
• Local candidates residing within 31-50 miles of the facility accepted at local rate
• Candidates living less than 30 miles from the facility are not accepted
• Up to 8 hours of non-billable training modules required prior to start, completed through Health Stream
