Overview

Position: Part-time Bus Monitor

Location: Transportation

Terms of employment: approximately 20 hours/week

• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate
• FLSA: Non-Exempt

• Exercise maximum regard for the safety and welfare of all transported students.
• Be knowledgeable of the assigned bus route.
• Assist bus driver with keeping assigned bus clean and sanitary at all times.
• Attend all bus monitor safety meetings and bus monitor training sessions.
• Submit to Drug and/or Alcohol testing when required by School Board, State and/or Federal policy.
• Communicate effectively with the school, staff and the public.
• Assist bus driver with inspecting the school bus at the end of each run to ensure that no student is left on the bus.
• Abide by procedures and policies regarding the safe and orderly operation of the bus including pick up and drop off procedures and loading and unloading procedures.
• Assist bus driver with conducting emergency evacuation drills as required.
• Assign and monitor required student seating arrangements as directed by the Transportation Coordinator or Designee.
• Follow roll call, check-lists, and seating procedures as directed by the Transportation Coordinator or Designee.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Coordinator or Designee.
