Manufacturing Production, Machine Operator
Primary Objective
Responsible for material movement and machinery operations needed to safely produce quality products.
Major Function and Scope- Perform quality inspections and testing throughout the shift, identifying quality and manufacturing defects.
- Understand correct parameters specific to department processes to minimize defect opportunities and increase production output.
- Adjust production line via feedback from automated monitoring systems, manual testing, and product specifications.
- Adhere to company and department standards regarding documentation, setup procedures, production procedures, and quality guidelines.
- Follow all company and department safety policies, including PPE and alternate work procedures.
- Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other tools as needed.
- Attend job‑related training deemed necessary by supervision.
- Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
- Perform other tasks assigned by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Prior forklift experience required, 1+ year experience preferred.
- Experience in production processes involving paper or chemical handling preferred.
- Good oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with all employees.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating or maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to work independently.
This position requires the team member to work with machinery in an environment where there may be fluctuating temperatures and additional department‑specific variables. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required, and may include hearing protection, safety shoes, high‑visibility clothing, and eye protection.
Other working conditions may include working 12‑hour shifts and a fixed shift rotation, including holidays.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.; walking, bending, squatting, climbing ladders and stairs required.
