Primary ObjectiveResponsible for performing skilled painting work for the maintaining of various interior and exterior surfaces, including equipment.
Major Function and Scope- Prepares wood, metal, plaster, sheetrock, masonry, concrete, or other surfaces for painting by removing old paint, filling cracks and holes, sanding and applying filters and base coats.
- Paints various surfaces with a wide range of paint using brushes, rollers, or spray guns.
- Assists the maintenance team with project work as needed.
- Completes additional tasks such as washing walls, cleaning, and maintaining tools and equipment.
- Conducts daily inspections.
- Operates power and handtools safely.
- Assists with site cleaning.
- Adheres to all safety policies and practices.
- Attends any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision.
- Follows all established standard operating procedures.
- Performs general housekeeping duties as necessary.
- Performs other tasks assigned by management.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of experience as a painter.
- Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply for optimal results.
- Knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques.
- Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking gun sets, etc.).
- Valid driver's license.
This position requires the team member to work with machinery in an environment where there may be fluctuating temperatures, and additional department-specific variables. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required, and may include hearing protection, safety shoes, high-visibility clothing, and eye protection.
Other working conditions may include working 12-hour shifts and a fixed shift rotation, including holidays.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.; walking, bending, squatting, climbing ladders and stairs are required.
