PositionSummary
The Machine Operator is responsible for efficiently setting up and operating various rotary transfer machining equipment, including Buffoli Nuts and Fittings, Davenports, and Acmes. The operator will also repair tooling, spindles, belts, sheaves, bearings, and other machine components.
Principal Functional Responsibilities- Make safety your number one priority by leading by example, addressing unsafe conditions & behaviors, and supporting safety improvement initiatives.
- Read and interpret blueprints and layouts to ensure machinery setup is accurate.
- Operate machines, including loading stock, to meet production and quality targets.
- Perform operator quality checks, verifying conformance to tolerances.
- Complete production records, including output, tool changes performed, issues encountered, and recommendations for improvement.
- Perform basic inspection and maintenance on machines, including checking oil, pressures, and coolant levels.
- Cross‑train and perform in other work centers as needed to meet customer demands.
- Ability to work 1st shift (7am‑3pm).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong attention to safety; ability to maintain a safe working environment.
- Strong attention to detail; ability to accurately read blueprints and precision measurement tools.
- Good communication, basic math, and time‑management skills.
- Ability to regularly lift a minimum of 35 lbs. and perform repetitive motions with arms and hands.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time while performing work.
- Previous rotary transfer machining experience.
- Previous experience with tooling adjustments, set‑ups, change‑overs and troubleshooting.
$22.00 - $33.00 per hour (actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, geographic location, and/or skills).
