Painter - Facilities Department (Thomasville, North Carolina, 27360)

Primary Objective:
Responsible for performing skilled painting work for the maintaining of various interior and exterior surfaces, including equipment.

• Prepares wood, metal, plaster, sheetrock, masonry, concrete, or other surfaces for painting by removing old paint, filling cracks and holes, sanding and applying filters and base coats.
• Paints various surfaces with a wide range of paint using brushes, rollers, or spray guns.
• Assists the maintenance team with project work as needed.
• Completes additional tasks such as washing walls, cleaning, and maintaining tools and equipment.
• Conduct daily inspections.
• Operate power and hand tools safely.
• Assist with site cleaning
• Adhere to all safety policies and practices.
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
• Follow all established standard operating procedures
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
• Perform other tasks assigned by management

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of experience as a painter
• Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply for optimal results.
• Knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques.
• Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.).
• Valid driver's license.

• This position requires the team member to work with machinery in an environment where there may be fluctuating temperatures, and additional department-specific variables. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required, and may include hearing protection, safety shoes, high-visibility clothing, and eye protection.
• Other working conditions may include working 12 hour shifts and a fixed shift rotation, including holidays.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.; walking, bending, squatting, climbing ladders and stairs are required.
