The City of Thompson is hiring Firefighter/EMRs, with a starting wage of $37.18 per hour, totaling approximately $81,200 per year. Additionally, candidates receive an annual retention allowance of $11,000 and a remoteness bonus. Qualified individuals will enter an essential firefighting and emergency response position that demands dedication and skill.
Key Responsibilities:
• Respond to fire emergencies and medical incidents
• Maintain firefighting equipment and perform inspections
• Participate in training programs and drills regularly
• Collaborate with team members on emergency responses
• Ensure community safety through education and outreach
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current Manitoba-recognized EMR certification
• NFPA 1001 Firefighter I and II certifications
• Valid Manitoba Class 4 licence with air brake endorsement
• Clear Vulnerable Sector check and pass medical exams
