Fire Captain Position

The City of Thompson Fire and Emergency Department seeks a motivated professional for a lateral hire appointment. In this leadership position, the Fire Captain will oversee emergency situations, enforce safety standards, and develop operational policies. Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise fire crews during emergency situations

• Coordinate responses to major incidents with external services

• Maintain records of equipment testing and readiness

• Develop dispatching procedures and ongoing training programs

• Investigate fire causes and origins thoroughly

Requirements:

• Minimum of 8 years firefighting experience

Certifications:

Firefighter I & II (NFPA 1001)

• Pumps Basic & Advanced certifications (NFPA 1002)

• ICS certification (200 or higher)

• Must pass medical evaluation and fitness assessment
