Our Patterson Lake location is seeking an experienced Airport Duty Manger to support our diverse operations. This is a full-time permanent position, working a rotation of 14 days in and 14 days out. Accommodations and flights from Edmonton, Calgary and Saskatoon provided.
Description: Reporting to the Airport Manager, the Airport Duty Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day safe, efficient, and effective operations and supervision of the base, in the absence of the Airport Manager.
The Airport Duty Manager will oversee the workforce team which supplies a variety of airport services including airfield maintenance, wildlife control, aircraft ground handling, aircraft de/anti-icing, baggage handling, passenger services and aircraft refueling.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee, lead, and provide direction, training, and coaching to personnel delivering airport services at the base.
- Ensure all operations meet or exceed contractual Scope of Work and client requirements.
- Ensure airport facilities and equipment are properly maintained and operational in all weather conditions.
- Support workforce management activities in collaboration with the client’s Human Resources team, including recruitment, performance management, and terminations.
- Assist the Airport Manager in developing long-term plans for equipment, facilities, and staffing.
- Provide operational support as required, including airfield maintenance, ramp services, passenger services, refueling, and aircraft de/anti-icing.
- Prepare, maintain, and submit accurate and timely operational reports (e.g., NOTAMs, AMSCRs, aircraft and passenger movements, HSE and regulatory reports).
- Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators; monitor operational performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, legislative, corporate, and client policies and standards, including Transport Canada, Canada Labour Code, OH&S regulations, and operational manuals.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits, identifying hazards and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Liaise with clients, regulators, and community stakeholders to support operational success.
- Support training programs, quality assurance initiatives, and recordkeeping requirements.
- Act on behalf of the Airport Manager during absences, including representing the organization during audits.
- Lead or participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and required training sessions.
- Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Deliver a high standard of professional and customer-focused service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Successful completion of a post-secondary program in a related field, or an equivalent combination of aviation experience, education, training, and/or management experience in a highly regulated environment.
