Join Day Kimball Health as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in our Home Care department.
LocationThompson, CT
ScheduleDay shift (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) – 8 daily hours, per visit basis.
Job SummaryUnder the direction of the Rehabilitation Supervisor, the SLP will organize and administer speech therapy programs to reduce or prevent disability and help patients reach maximum functional potential.
Job Responsibilities- Evaluate and treat patients as prescribed by the referring physician.
- Record treatment, response, progress, and discharge information in the patient’s chart.
- Educate patients, families, and significant others regarding the condition, treatment, home program, and rehabilitation services.
- Routinely confer with physicians and other practitioners in person, by phone, or in writing regarding progress, regression, or changes in plan.
- Orient, instruct, and direct other health‑care team members as needed.
- Master’s degree from an accredited Speech Language Pathology program.
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech‑Language Pathology.
- Connecticut license (or eligible license).
- CPR certification.
- Minimum one year experience preferred.
- Use common sense and medical knowledge to care for patients with disabilities.
- Understand technical information from supervisors, charts, reference books, manuals, and labels.
- Work quickly and accurately in emergency situations.
- Communicate effectively.
- Identify and act on priorities for smooth departmental operation.
- Maintain discretion in handling confidential information.
- Keep up to date on trends and developments in the field.
- Work effectively in team situations.
