Business Support Assistant (Thornaby | Full Time Days | £12.75/hr)

St Martins Care is seeking a friendly, organised, and professional Business Support Assistant to join our dedicated care home team at Woodside Grange. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for an individual looking to build a career in administration and customer service within a truly rewarding environment.

As a key member of our front-facing team, you will be the first point of contact, creating a warm and welcoming experience for our residents, their families, and visiting professionals. Your role will be crucial in providing essential administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the home.

You will be involved in a wide variety of activities, from reception duties and customer service to supporting resident events and general business administration. If you have excellent communication skills, a professional manner, and basic IT proficiency, we encourage you to apply and make a real difference in the lives of others.

About the role

As a Business Support Assistant, your day will be dynamic and varied. You'll be the welcoming face of the care home, managing the reception, answering calls, and assisting visitors. A significant part of your role involves providing vital administrative support, including managing records, handling correspondence, and ordering supplies.

You'll also have the chance to get creative by helping the Activities Team plan and promote resident events, from seasonal celebrations to community group visits. Required Criteria
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A friendly, approachable and professional manner.
  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Desired Criteria
  • Previous experience of working in a similar environment.
  • Experience of working with service users who have additional support needs.
  • Previous experience in a customer service, reception or administrative role.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements.
