Estimator
Company: Civil Engineering Contractor
Location: Teesside
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £50k base + car
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our established civil engineering client in Teesside. The successful candidate will play a key role in pricing and securing a wide range of Pre construction civil engineering projects, including roads, drainage, sewers, and plotworks.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing contractor with a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming works.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil engineering projects
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
- Undertaking material take-offs and quantity measurements
- Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Preparing bills of quantities and schedules of rates
- Assessing project risks and value engineering opportunities
- Liaising with clients, engineers, and the commercial team
- Attending pre- and post-tender meetings as required
- Supporting handover of successful tenders to the delivery team

- Section 104 & 106 drainage and sewer installations

Requirements
- Proven experience as an Estimator within civil engineering
- Strong understanding of roads, drainage, sewers, and plotworks
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines
Desirable
- HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline
- Knowledge of NEC and other standard forms of contract
- Experience working with developers and local authorities
