Group Accountant

Imperial Recruitment is working with a well-established education provider to appoint a Group Accountant on a six month contract to join their finance team. This is a hands-on role covering management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and year-end reporting, with line management responsibility for a small team.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce accurate, timely financial information for the group management accounts pack
• Manage departmental budget review and business partnering for non-curriculum areas
• Lead forecasting of staffing costs, including scenario modelling
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and oversee control account checks
• Line manage three direct reports, including BACS run authorisation
• Support the annual budgeting and planning cycle
• Act as key contact for external auditors and support year-end statements/regulatory returns
• Prepare and submit VAT returns to HMRC
• Reconcile core funding and monitor cash flow

About You

• CCAB or CIMA qualified
• Grade C/above in Maths and English (or equivalent)
• Strong experience of management accounts, year-end reporting and audit liaison
• Experience of forecasting, scenario modelling and budget setting
• Line management experience
• Advanced Excel skills;
  Power BI experience desirable
• Comfortable working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
