JOB SCOPE ANDMAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Production Expeditor supports the production processes within Operations, working closely with the Production Shift Manager, Team Leaders & Customer Service teams to ensure the timely completion, prioritisation, and release of difficult or problematic orders. The role is central to maintaining workflow efficiency, supporting customer satisfaction and excellence, and adhering to departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as well as company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
AREASOF RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATED
ACTIVITIES:
- Publish and maintain designated production and performance reports and distribute to Production Managers as required.
- Using SEE4C, liaise with Customer Service team members to prioritise designated jobs and communicate potential delays.
- Use AS400 system reports to identify aged jobs and multiple rejects, ensuring appropriate prioritisation through the factory.
- Ensure Production Shift Managers are aware of priority jobs in their department.
- Liaise with other department expeditors to communicate any jobs that will impact their areas
- Manage own work station to ensure it is kept clean and tidy.
- Sharing your product, plant and process knowledge with colleagues as relevant.
- Deliver flexible support to the production team during weekends, scheduled breaks, and high-demand production periods.
- Carry out any additional reasonable tasks as instructed by the Production Shift Managers.
- To work in line with duty of care to self/others and ensure Health & Safety guidelines are followed in line with company policy.
- To protect the health and safety of visitors / contractors / external providers brought to site and ensure relevant H&S guidelines are meant.
- To bring to the attention of the business hazards, risks, concerns, accidents or near misses.
- Comply with any local PPE requirements.
- Strong attention to detail.

- Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Ability to follow documented processes accurately.
- Willingness to work alternative shift patterns when required.
- Excellent knowledge of the optical and cosmetic checking processes across all departments.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of the ophthalmic lens industry.
- Good standard of written and spoken English (GCSE level or equivalent).
