Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, team‑oriented Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Rowe Vets, Thornbury on a part‑time basis for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract covering maternity leave.
Part‑time: 25.3 hours per week across Monday (8:00am–5:00pm), Thursday (9:00am–6:00pm), and Friday (8:00am–5:00pm), with participation in a 1 in 6 full weekend rota at Bradley Stoke Hospital (7:30am–4:30pm). Weekend work includes one day off in lieu and one day paid.
How You’ll Make a DifferenceAs a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first‑opinion cases, while also supporting the hospital team during weekend shifts. This provides a varied role with exposure to both general practice and a busier hospital environment.
GeneralResponsibilities
- Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first‑opinion caseload.
- Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing.
- Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations.
We’re looking for a confident and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys working as part of a team and delivering high standards of care. You’ll bring:
- Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS.
- Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively.
- A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement.
