Plans Examiner Supervisor – Commerce City

Commerce City seeks an experienced Plans Examiner Supervisor to oversee and strengthen the City’s plan review process for residential, commercial, and industrial development. This role ensures construction plans comply with adopted building codes, zoning ordinances, and City regulations, advancing safe, consistent, and high-quality development across the community. Reporting to the Deputy Building Official, the position plays a key role in maintaining efficiency, accuracy, and alignment throughout the permitting and review process.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Science with two years of experience in building code plan review or building inspection OR six years of experience in building code plan review or building inspection.
• ICC Commercial Plans Examiner and at least two specialty certifications or licenses are required.
• Supervisory or lead worker experience or training is required.
• A valid Colorado driver’s license is mandatory.

Hiring salary is dependent upon experience. Hiring Range $85,929.27 – $95,476.97 / Annually.
