SPECIAL EDUCATION ASSISTANTS, SOUTH AND NORTH ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS
6.25 hours a day with some flexibilty
Our schools have both non-program Special Education Assistants, that work with students that have lesser needs, and Program Special Education Assistants that work with students that have higher needs.
Program assistants receive an additional $0.50 per hour.
Starting hourly rates for non-program assistants are $17.62-$18.62,
Program assistant’s rates are $18.12-$19.12.
Assistants are offered the ability to take a free RBT class on their own and get
an additional $0.50 per hour once they receive the certificate. If you are a certified Para educator II or at the time you become one you will also receive an additional $0.50 per hour for that! So you can earn a total of an additional $1.00 per hour!
BENEFITS: 9+ holidays (depending on schedule), Dental Insurance (must work 25+ hours), Life Insurance (must work 25 + hours), Vision Plan (must work 15+ hours), Sick Leave, Attendance Bonus, Personal Days, Bereavement Days, and you can receive up to $700 Education Incentive Reimbursement available at the start of employment. This is prorated by the hours that you work. You can also apply for additional reimbursement in May if funds are available.
You can take advantage of this to become a Para educator II.

LEEP:
Developmental Preschool for 3 and 4 years old (50% Special Needs and 50% traditional students)
PALS (LEEP & All Elementary):
Primary Academic Learning (need assistance with learning & daily living skills)
FRIENDS/FLEX:
Working with students on the Autism Spectrum
BAS (Middle School):
Basic Academic Skills
PFS (Middle School):
Emotional Disabilities
STEPS (High School):
Students Tackling Emotional and Personal Struggles
ACT (High School):
Academic and Career Training
ESC (High School):
Emotional and Academic Support
Some schedule flexibility is available at the discretion of the Special Education Director
Moose Hill Kindergarten and Pre-School:
- 5.25 hours a day, program position
- 6 hours, 4 days a week non program
South, North and Matthew Thornton Elementary Schools:
- 6.25 hours a day,
- Both program and nonprogram positions available
Middle and High School:
- 6.25 hours a day
- Both program and nonprogram positions available
