Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Positions are available for Special Education Teachers to support students across multiple grade levels (K-12) in the Denver area, specifically Thornton, CO. These contract roles, lasting through the school year, offer an opportunity to impact diverse learners in both elementary and middle school settings within a full-time schedule (35+ hours per week).
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialized instruction tailored to students with affective needs, significant cognitive challenges, and varied learning disabilities.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and implement effective interventions.
- Maintaining accurate records and progress monitoring to ensure student growth.
- Adapting teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Supporting students aged from early elementary through middle school.
Positions available for the following specific roles and timelines:
- Affective Needs Teacher at an elementary school (Jan 5, 2026 - End of Year)
- Learning Specialist at two locations (ASAP - End of School Year)
- Significant Support Needs teacher for students with cognitive challenges at a middle school (ASAP - End of School Year)
Qualifications and experience:
- Active Colorado Department of Education (CO DOE) Special Education certification.
- Experience working in special education environments, ranging from 0 to 10+ years, with pay rates reflecting experience levels.
- Ability to manage caseloads and work collaboratively within school teams.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
