Senior Battery Program Manager Position Summary
The Senior Battery Program Manager oversees end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of battery-related programs, ensuring technical, schedule, cost, and quality goals are met. This role works cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and external partners to drive development and deployment of advanced battery technologies.
The Senior Battery Program Manager will manage several programs simultaneously with tasks including schedule and cost planning, detailed battery design (electrical and mechanical), supply chain identification, integrated battery product assembly, test, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Define program scope and timelines for battery development initiatives.
- Develop and maintain detailed program roadmaps, schedules, and budgets.
- Manage design teams both internally and externally to Forge Nano.
- Perform initial battery design concepts including packaging concepts.
- Generate product data specifications to be used as product offering documentation.
- Generate necessary cell/pack/assembly certification test plans and procedures.
- Initiate, monitor and control cell/pack/assembly certification testing.
- Support new business opportunities as directed by the sales team.
- Ensure quality process and procedures are implemented on battery programs.
- Implement corrective actions and ensure adherence to quality processes.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, chemical, materials, or similar).
- 5+ years of program or project management experience in batteries, energy storage, or related hardware.
- Understanding of multiple battery cell chemistries (lithium sulfur, lithium-ion, sodium-ion, Iron phosphate).
- Understanding of various battery cell manufacturing formats (pouch, cylindrical, prismatic).
- Understanding of battery design and assembly to define required series/parallel cell configuration.
- Understanding of battery thermal performance characteristics.
- Experience in battery design and assembly for various applications including batteries for the following systems:
Satellites, underwater maritime vehicles, surface maritime vehicles, drones, directed energy, UPS BESS, Microgrids, and aviation aircraft. - Strong understanding of battery development life cycles (cell ? module ? pack).
- Proven experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder technical programs.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, PowerPoint, MSWord, Excel).
- Experience in cell/pack/assembly certification testing.
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in a technical field.
- Background in stationary storage, aerospace and defense, and consumer electronics.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes for cells, modules, and packs.
- Technical literacy in battery systems.
- Cross-functional leadership.

- Budgeting and resource planning.
- Data-driven decision-making.
- Supplier and stakeholder management.
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Work predominantly will be in a manufacturing environment. The employee will be required to wear all appropriate safety equipment including but not limited to eye protection, gloves, steel toe shoes, lab coat, and in the plant, a hard hat. Strict adherence to corporate and/or plant policies, rules and regulations in these areas is required. Compensation/Benefits- $120K -- $160K Depending on qualifications
