We are seeking a Design Engineer II to join our growing team. This role is focused on the design, analysis, and prototyping of customized scroll compressors and vacuum pumps. The ideal candidate will lead technical development efforts, support design for manufacturability, and ensure products meet rigorous specifications for size, performance, lifespan, and reliability.
Pay Range$85,000 - $105,000 / year, based on qualifications and experience

- Lead technical development of new products from concept through completion
- Design detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings using Solid Works
- Use CFD to optimize cooling, pressure drop, and heat rejection
- Select and specify hardware components (bearings, couplings, fasteners, O-rings, etc.)
- Estimate performance during the design phase and validate through testing
- Support in-house and external machine shops with design and dimensional inquiries
- Independently develop complex components and assemblies
- Assist with prototype testing and troubleshooting
- Occasionally assist with hands‑on assembly (most builds handled by lab technicians)
- Mentor and train entry‑level engineers and interns
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Occasional travel may be required
- Overtime availability as needed

- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience required)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant design engineering experience
- Experience with Solid Works (3D modeling and drawings)
- Proficient in GD&T principles
- Experience with Solid Works Simulation (FEA and CFD)
- Background in automotive, aerospace, or medical industries (preferred)
- Familiarity with industry‑specific design standards (preferred)
- Knowledge of various manufacturing processes
- Experience leading full product lifecycle projects is a plus
