Part-Time Retail Sales Cashier Associate - Thornton Store

JOB SUMMARY

The Associate I, Retail Sales Cashier is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by greeting customers in a welcoming manner and responding timely and professionally to customer inquiries. Sales Associates must help maintain a well-stocked and organized sales floor that meets company standards and be able to operate a point-of-sale cash register system to ensure the quality of product and pricing are accurate at the time of purchase.

• Responsible for verification of till counts, provides accurate cashier transactions, and maintains a balanced cash drawer using a computer‑based point‑of‑sale system.
• Responsible for driving the Roundup initiative by engaging customers and sharing knowledge of the mission it supports.
• Provides excellent customer service upholding company values.
• Assists customers with questions, concerns, and purchases.
• Completes opening and closing procedures.
• Maintains a clean, organized sales floor by regularly cleaning and organizing shelves, picking items off the floor, and putting away product from racks, carts, or baskets, including returned or unwanted items.
• Provides a safe, clean, organized, and well‑stocked point of sale, sales floor, and restrooms.
• Initiates Customer Delight/Power Hour calls over intercom to organize and clean the sales floor.
• Follows all retail center policies and procedures.
• Follows all safety processes and procedures to provide a safe working environment for employees and customers.
• Cross‑trains in other departments or areas; acts as a back‑up for other areas as required.

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

• One (1) year of retail sales or cash handling experience is preferred.

• Must be accurate with numbers and general calculations and understand the value of different coins and U.S. currency.
• Must be able to use basic math such as adding, subtracting, and multiplication.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
• Must be able to operate a computer‑based cash register and credit card machine.
• Must be able to withstand prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to eight (8) hours per day.
• Ability to see color for accurate transactions.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary.

Excellent customer service skills are a must! Part‑time positions are available. Availability to work evenings and weekends is required. Retail center hours: 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. Monday – Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Sunday. Pay: $15.65 per hour. Eligible for Daily Pay. Part‑time employees in Retail and Sales/Operations Division are eligible for paid holidays, sick leave, jury duty and bereavement leave.
