Amgen is seeking a Director to lead the forecasting team for our Inflammation and Cardiovascular pipeline. You will partner with Commercial, R&D, Medical, Finance, Manufacturing, Access, and Pricing/Contracting teams to deliver strategic insights and drive commercial success.
Location: Thousand Oaks, CA – flexible commuter role; on‑site 2‑3 days per week.
What You Will Do- Serve as primary point of contact for senior Therapeutic Area leaders on forecasting deliverables.
- Facilitate consensus building and establish transparent worldwide sales expectations for pipeline assets.
- Identify action‑oriented strategies to improve commercial potential, prioritizing risks and opportunities.
- Recommend go/no‑go decisions on product development based on market conditions, financial projections, and strategic goals.
- Analyze competitors and market dynamics to inform forecasting models.
- Build an objective view of brand strategy integrating insights across functions.
- Quantify uncertainty through scenario planning and advanced simulation models such as Monte Carlo analysis.
- Apply deep knowledge of pharmaceutical data sources to develop and implement enhanced forecasting methodologies.
- Prepare and deliver transparent presentations to senior stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Commercial Data & Analytics to integrate insights into forecasts.
- Drive productivity and process efficiencies in forecasting.
- Doctorate degree with 4+ years of forecasting experience in biopharma/biotechnology/pharmaceutical; OR
- Master’s degree with 7+ years of experience; OR
- Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of experience.
- Leadership experience building and developing high‑performing teams.
- Ability to establish credibility and influence senior leadership.
- Experience championing new methodologies and tools aligned with best practices.
- Business acumen to understand pharmaceutical markets for relevant disease areas.
- Partnership with business leaders to deliver high‑quality predictions.
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills for diverse audiences.

Salary:
Expected annual range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on experience and qualifications.
