Position Summary:
We are hiring multiple Safety Managers in the Ventura area
. Safety Managers will develop and enforce site‑specific safety plans, conduct trainings, lead audits and investigations, and ensure compliance with OSHA/Cal‑OSHA and project requirements. These full‑time, on‑site roles are ideal for safety professionals who want to grow on high‑profile public infrastructure programs.
- Enforce jobsite safety programs per OSHA/Cal‑OSHA and project requirements.
- Lead orientations, toolbox talks, and recurring safety trainings.
- Oversee subcontractor compliance and verify documentation.
- Direct and oversee comprehensive safety inspections, ensuring timely corrective action by field teams.
- Investigate incidents and drive close‑out of corrective actions.
- Manage emergency response planning and PPE oversight.
- Collaborate with project leadership to embed safety into planning and daily operations.
- Lead site safety operations across flexible schedules, including night shifts and weekend work when required.
- Conduct regular comprehensive audits and prepare weekly/monthly safety reports for project leadership.
- Mentor assistant safety coordinators and field engineers on hazard recognition and mitigation.
- Partner with superintendents and project executives to integrate safety planning into baseline schedules.
- Minimum of 8 years of safety experience required.
- 5+ years preferred for larger‑scale heavy civil projects.
- CPR/First Aid Trainer strongly valued.
- Experience on union, multi‑subcontractor jobsites.
- Technical knowledge of excavation, trenching, fall protection, confined space, and crane/rigging.
- Strong leadership, documentation, and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
