Position Overview :
TheOSPField Engineerperformsfieldsurveysandcollectsdatatosupport
fiber opticandtelecommunicationsengineeringprojects.
Thisroledocumentsexistingaerialandundergroundutilityconditions,validates routes,captures measurements,andensuresallinformationrequiredforaccuratedesignandpermittingiscollected.
Key Responsibilities:- Performfieldwalkstodocumentpoles,underground(UG) paths,utilities,right-of-way(ROW) boundaries,andsiteconditions.
- Capturerequiredphotos,includingpoletags,pole heights,cable labels,MPOE,handholes,anchors,clearances,and obstructions.
- Measure spans,attachment heights,mid-span clearances,andaccuratelyrecordGPScoordinates.
- TakedetailedfieldnotesfollowingOSPDesign
Principlesandmaintainaccurateroutedocumentation. - Convertfieldnotesinto Google Earth /KMZformat(preferred).
- Identifyconstructabilityissues,easements,utility conflicts,andpermittingrequirements.
- Uploadandmanagefielddatausingplatformssuchas Katapult Proor IQGEO.
- Communicatefieldfindingswith Project Managers ,Engineering teams,andotherstakeholders.
- ExperienceinOSPfielding,telecommunications construction,orutilitysurveyingpreferred.
- AT&Texperienceispreferred(IFP,ASE,andGPONexposureisaplus).
- Knowledge of Google Earthwiththeabilitytocreateoredit KMZ/KMLfilesisaplus.
- UnderstandingofFTTxandAT&TGPONdesignisanadvantage.
- Mustbelegallyauthorizedtoworkinthe United States .
- Abilitytoworkoutdoorsinvariousweatherconditionsandperform physicallydemandingfieldtasks.
- Valid driver'slicenseandreliabletransportation.
- Flexibletotravelforshortbusinesstripsandoccasionalweekendwork(rare).
- Abilitytomanagetimelinesefficientlywhilehandlingmultipleprojectssimultaneously.
- Highlyorganizedwiththeabilitytotrackdeadlines,deliverables,andprojectexpectations.
- Fieldsurveyingandmeasurementaccuracy.
- Photodocumentation.
- MapandGISreading.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Timemanagementandorganizationalskills.
- Knowledgeofaerialandundergroundtelecommunicationsinfrastructure(preferred)
