Job Description:
As a Skills Instructor , you will provide oversight and support for individuals served in the Independent Living Services (ILS) program. The role involves teaching adults with developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible by developing, increasing, or maintaining skills. Responsibilities include assisting clients in various areas such as: home and community safety, utilizing public transportation, shopping in the community, self-advocacy, independent recreation and participation, socialization, interpersonal relationships.,

Villa Esperanza Services is seeking difference makers to join our Independent Living Skills Program as a Skills Instructor! Our Independent Living Services (ILS) program provides support for developmentally disabled adults, 18 years and older, who seek to maintain a self-sustaining, independent living environment in the community.
Schedule :
Monday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM (25-30hrs/week)
Compensation : $19.85 - $20.00/hour

Thousand Oaks, CA vicinity
Qualifications/Requirements:
High school or equivalent.
Experience assisting special needs individuals; 1 year preferred.
Skills Instructor
Valid CA Driver’s License and 3 years of verifiable driving history.
** A valid CA driver’s license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation are preferred to safely and effectively support special needs clients in achieving their goals. This position requires driving participants with special needs to:
Medical appointments and therapy sessions. Community activities, events, and recreational outings. Educational or vocational programs.
Willing to work in the Thousand Oaks, Cama ri llo and Simi Valley area.
S atisfactorily pass a backg round fingerprinting clearance from DOJ/FBI Community Care Licensing/Dept. of Social Services
Satisfactorily complete a physical & TB screening.
