The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Medical Assistant (MA) provides safe, knowledgeable, compassionate, and goal-directed care to surgical patients and their families throughout the immediate pre-, intra-, and post-procedure periods. This role supports all aspects of the surgery center s operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care for peri-operative patients. The CNA / MA will adhere to the Center s philosophy, policies, and nursing philosophy.
Qualifications- Minimum of one year of experience in an ambulatory surgery center.
- Current CNA / MA licensure and CPR certification required.
- Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
- Commitment to serving as a patient advocate during all phases of surgical intervention.
- Flexibility to meet the demands of the surgical schedule, including potential overtime and schedule changes.
- Ability to assist in all peri-operative areas as needed to support patient throughput while practicing within the scope of a Certified Nursing Assistant / Medical Assistant.
- Competence in performing stocking, cleaning, and various administrative duties as assigned.
- Capability to lift up to twenty-five pounds independently and push patients in wheelchairs or gurneys, with the expectation of seeking assistance when necessary.
- Provide compassionate and individualized care to surgical patients and their families.
- Assist in all phases of patient care: pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative.
- Support the surgical team in ensuring safe and efficient patient throughput.
- Perform necessary administrative duties, including stocking and cleaning, as assigned.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all center policies and procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficient in medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing patient needs and work schedules.
