What you will do Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will help create a reliable, secure technology environment for the scientists advancing our medicines. Based at Amgen’s Thousand Oaks, California facility, you’ll support the laboratory systems and instrument-connected computers scientists rely on every day. You’ll partner with researchers and teams across IT to deploy and maintain lab technology, resolve user needs, keep systems current, and support data protection, backup, and archiving.
You’ll also help build and maintain tools and automation scripts that make the team’s work more efficient. The role offers hands‑on experience across lab technology, infrastructure, networking, and databases—and the opportunity to shape solutions that balance scientific needs, security, and enterprise priorities. You’ll join the Benchtop Product Team and support the full lifecycle of laboratory benchtop platforms across Operations—from software and hardware refreshes to ongoing system availability.

Work with scientists and IS colleagues to resolve support requests involving laboratory computers, software and Windows upgrades, and system troubleshooting. Coordinate with vendors to obtain current controller software, drivers, patches, and other software packages. Collaborate with Amgen infrastructure teams to build and support DEV, TEST, and PROD environments in cloud and on-premises settings.
Test software and hardware updates, develop migration strategies, and support the benchtop platforms in scope. Create and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for lifecycle processes. Manage Service Now activities, including Service Access Reviews, application CI records, ISA/TPRA, end‑of‑life servers, and orphaned assets.
