Facility DescriptionWonderful opportunity to join the clinical staff of DLV Vision Surgery Center. We are a family‑oriented, growing, physician‑owned ambulatory surgery center (ASC) located in beautiful Thousand Oaks, CA, with easy access to Highway 101. The center has two operating rooms and offers a safe, comfortable, and caring environment that makes us the partner of choice for surgical care in Southern California.
We currently specialize in the following area of practice:
- Ophthalmology
- Additional specialties in the future
We are seeking an experienced peri‑operative nurse for a per‑diem position. Prior ophthalmology and/or ASC experience preferred.
ResponsibilitiesAccountable for the provision of nursing care in the assigned peri‑operative areas of the surgery center. Ensure patient needs are met in accordance with instructions of physician and facility administrative procedures. Participate in quality activities as directed by the Nursing Supervisor, Facility Administrator or Medical Director.
The Registered Nurse must set priorities in planning cases, make clinical decisions, provide care for patients undergoing surgery, and assist with pre‑op and post‑operative nursing care. They serve as a resource for complex decision making and establishing individualized plans of care.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform all functions of assigned area, including pre‑op, intra‑op, and PACU.
- Set up room for surgical procedures and identify instrumentation and supply needs.
- Complete procedural counts accurately.
- Document activities per facility policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate and practice aseptic technique.
- Multi‑task effectively.
- Collaborate as a team player and foster cooperative effort.
- Seek guidance and assistance when needed.
- Recognize and utilize appropriate lines of communication.
- Adhere to infection control standards and universal protocol.
- Follow patient safety standards in accordance with Standards of Patient Care, The Joint Commission, Patient’s Bill of Rights, Oak Park Surgery policies and procedures, and professional standards.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in California.
- Documentation and confirmation of one year of operating room/ASC experience preferred.
- Critical thinking skills.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification.
- Ability to perform work requiring frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and moving or lifting patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
