Senior Scientist – In Vivo Pharmacology (Inflammation Research)
Amgen is seeking a dedicated Principal Scientist (manager) to join our In Vivo Pharmacology (IVP) group, focusing on therapeutics for inflammation, autoimmune, and rare disease programs. The successful candidate will design and execute pharmacology experiments, generate and communicate preclinical data, and provide technical expertise to therapeutic area scientists.
Responsibilities- Design and execute experiments exploring pharmacology of drug targets.
- Generate pharmacology and preclinical data to support progression of research projects.
- Collaborate with therapeutic area scientists and teams across Amgen sites.
- Manage up to one report and contribute to project teams.
- Driven, proactive, independent scientist eager to contribute cutting‑edge science.
- Strong understanding of immunology and inflammation biology.
- Curiosity to learn and explore new research areas.
- Hands‑on expertise with animal handling and in‑vivo techniques.
- Experience with in‑vivo preclinical inflammation and autoimmune disease models.
- Hands‑on experience with ELISA, MSD, RT‑PCR, protein measurements, flow cytometry.
- Computer literacy with Graph Pad Prism, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
- Attention to detail, excellent organization, communication, and record keeping.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and scientific achievement.
- Experience in pharmacology and in‑vivo inflammation/immunology models.
- Ability to work in a flexible, team‑oriented environment.
- Doctorate degree OR
- Master’s degree and 2 years of drug discovery experience OR
- Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of drug discovery experience.
- Ph.D. with post‑doctoral training or drug discovery experience in immunology, inflammation, autoimmune disease, or related fields; 3–5 years of management experience.
- Experience leading in‑vivo contributions on project teams.
