ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE ENGINEER
Location – Thrapston, Northamptonshire
Salary – £46,000 – £50,000 + Bonus (up to 10%)
Shift – 2 Days / 2 Nights / 4 Off (42 hours per week)
A fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer within a highly automated, fast‑paced manufacturing facility of a globally recognised packaging business. The site offers excellent job security, structured processes and long‑term career stability.
Working within an established engineering team, you will focus on electrical fault finding and maintenance across modern production machinery.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out reactive and planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on site machinery
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently to minimise downtime
- Work on equipment such as corrugators, conveyors, packaging machines, palletisers, and cutting machinery
- Perform electrical fault finding on control circuits, PLCs, drives, inverters, motors and sensors
- Support mechanical fault finding (gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, hydraulics and pneumatics) when required
- Fault find PLCs (Siemens S7 & Allen Bradley – fault finding only)
- Collaborate with engineering team, team leaders and planners to maintain site performance
- Ensure work meets health & safety and site standards
Factory Maintenance – Packaging / FMCG
Non‑Negotiable Requirements- Electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent / Naric approved)
- Experience with in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience with in packaging, paper, or high‑speed manufacturing environments
- Experience working with Siemens S7 or Allen Bradley PLCs
- Large, stable, globally recognised manufacturing group
