Make an impact with our Assurance & Accounting team as a Co-op Accountant from January to April 2027. This diverse team of professionals are dedicated to exceeding clients’ unique needs within a rapidly evolving business and financial reporting landscape. Responsibilities
Completion of personal and corporate tax returns and responding to related CRA requests for informationAssist with compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagementsPrepare and maintain government remittances/filings, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable and payroll transactionsSet up client files, assist with the completion of budgets and complete administrative planningMaintain, monitor and reconcile GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, intercompany and point of sale (POS)/system uploadsIdentify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies and discuss with managers or engagement partners to develop resolutionsCommunicate with the government regarding information requests, assessments and installmentsWork collaboratively with the client engagement teamSkills and Experience
Working towards an accounting certificate or bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administrationEntry level to 2 years of relevant accounting experienceExperience preparing T4s and T5s and knowledge of personal and corporate tax is preferredWorking knowledge of basic accounting principles and processes is considered an assetPrevious accounting related office experience is considered an assetCustomer service and/or client service experience is considered an assetExperience working with accounting and tax software is considered an asset
