As a Special Education Specialist, you’ll play a crucial role at Long Lake 58 First Nation's Migizi Miigwanan Secondary School, located near Longlac, Ontario. Support learners from Grades 9 to 12 while enriching their educational journey.
The Long Lake 58 First Nation Education Authority is searching for a passionate Special Education Teacher for the 2026/27 academic year. You will focus on catering to diverse learning abilities, integrating cultural programming, literacy, and numeracy into the curriculum. An understanding of Circle of Security training and Attachment Theory will enhance your ability to connect with students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and tailor instruction to meet individual student needs

• Collaborate in creating inclusive learning environments

• Support the integration of culture and outdoor education

• Communicate effectively with students and families

• Manage classroom activities and learning resources
Requirements:

• Registration with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) mandatory

• Special Education Specialist certificate or in process

• Awareness and appreciation for First Nations culture

• Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills

• Current Ontario College of Teachers Certificate required
